About Christian Artists
Christian Artists is a UK online shop offering scripture-led digital art prints, made to bring visual worship into everyday spaces. Here is what we do, who it is for and how we hold ourselves to account.
Our mission
Our tagline is “Visual worship for a broken world”, and it sums up why we exist. Many people long for reminders of faith in the places where they live, work and pray, yet original religious art is often expensive and hard to find. We publish Christian art as instant digital downloads so that a meaningful image can be on your wall the same day, at a price that suits a family budget or a small church.
The idea is an old one. Christians have long surrounded themselves with images and words that turn the heart towards God, from carved crosses to painted texts above doorways. Scripture itself speaks of keeping God's words close: “And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates” (Deuteronomy 6:9).
Who our prints are for
We create art for:
- Homes: hallways, kitchens, bedrooms and quiet corners set aside for prayer.
- Churches and church halls: welcome areas, prayer rooms, vestries and noticeboards. Our page on artwork for churches has practical ideas.
- Sunday schools and Christian schools: clear, colourful pieces that help children remember Bible stories and verses.
- Gift givers: prints for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, ordinations, Christmas, Easter and times of bereavement. See our Christian gift prints for inspiration.
- Art lovers: anyone who appreciates the great traditions of sacred art, from icons to abstraction.
Our editorial standards
Because our work deals with scripture and faith, we take accuracy and honesty seriously. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Scripture quoted with care
Every scripture-led artwork is anchored to a specific Bible verse, and we quote from the King James Version, the translation that has shaped English worship and literature for more than four hundred years. We check each quotation word for word against a trusted text, such as the King James Version on Bible Gateway, and give the book, chapter and verse so you can read it in context.
Honest about AI
Our artworks are created digitally using AI image-generation tools. We do not claim they are hand-painted, and we do not invent artists' names or back stories. What we bring is the care around the tools: writing scripture-led prompts, choosing traditional styles, setting aside images that are theologically careless or visually flawed, and preparing each file for print. Our page on how our art is made explains the process in full.
Checked before publishing
Before an artwork goes into the shop, we look closely at the details: hands, faces, lettering, symbols and anything that might distract from the subject. We check that the image suits its verse or theme, that it crops cleanly to A5 and A4, and that the print files open correctly at 300 DPI. Images that fall short are discarded rather than patched up.
Respectful of every tradition
People from many Christian traditions use our prints, including Anglican, Catholic, Orthodox, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal and independent churches. We aim for artwork that honours the shared heart of the faith, and we avoid caricature or imagery that would cause needless offence. Where a symbol or style belongs to a particular tradition, such as the Orthodox icon, we describe it with respect and accuracy.
Articles you can trust
Our articles on Christian art and faith cover history, symbolism, colour and technique, and they are written to inform rather than to sell. We base historical claims on well-established sources, such as the collections and research of major museums and galleries, point readers to further reading where helpful, and correct mistakes when they are pointed out. If something we have written looks wrong to you, please tell us.
Buying with confidence
We want buying from us to be simple and fair. Payments are handled securely by Stripe and PayPal, and your download links arrive immediately and by email. If you lose them, you can retrieve them from our My Downloads page. Our refund policy, privacy policy and terms of use set out your rights and ours in plain language.
